Textiles Reimagined
Recycle, upcycle, repurpose! Be a part of the revival of a historic tradition of repurposing textiles. Learn how to creatively reuse textiles to repurpose them into a variety of fashion and home decor items at an all day workshop. Project options include pillows, totes, and purses, in addition to other works on view for inspiration.
Date: May 14th, 9 AM – 4 PM, lunch break from 12 PM – 1 PM
Cost: $50
Instructors: Marty Moon and Cindy Siira
Location: Parish Hall at St. Stephens Episcopal Church
Supply List:
- Sewing machine
- Neutral thread
- Extension cord
- Surge protector
- Rotary cutter
- Sewing needles
- Rulers (some will be provided)
- Fabric will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own–recycled, repurposed, scraps, leftovers, denim, upholstery, linens, etc.
- Thread snips or scissors
- Seam ripper
- Pins
- Portable design wall or batting
Must be at least 12 years of age to sign up, unless accompanied by an adult.
There will be a kitchen available to store packed lunches, participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles.
