The 4 Seasons!
Did you know the seasons played a role in the survival of Culpeper? Join us this month as we learn about the 4 seasons and their importance to farmers who have planted this land for centuries. Participants will explore the differences between the seasons and what happens on a farm during each one. They will create a seasonal picture to take home.
Dinosaurs!
Come learn about the dinosaurs that roamed Culpeper 215 million years ago. Gather the tools necessary for an archeological dig and then excavate some dinosaurs.
Our Solar System!
Space is the final frontier. Participants this month will learn about the objects in our solar system. They will collect souvenirs from each of the planets while on a space mission and make a celestial nightlight to take home.
4th of July!
Join us as we celebrate the founding of the United States of America. Participants will learn about the history of the 4th of July, try to successfully deliver a secret message to General Washington, and create a patriotic flag to take home.
Father, Dad, Dada, Papa, Grandfather, Granddaddy, Godfather, Stepfather!
Father’s Day is just around the corner. Join us as we explore the roles of fathers, including how some of our founding fathers impacted Culpeper. Explorers will search the museum for clues to help them complete puzzles related to different activities you can do with dad as well as release their inner artist when making a picture to give to a dad in their life.
Mother, Mom, Mama, Grandmother, Gigi, Godmother, Stepmother!
This month, in preparation of Mother’s Day, we are learning about the connection between Culpeper and the creation of Mother’s Day, roles of mothers, who might fill that role in our lives, and their influence. Participants will name different baby animals and their mothers as well as make a present to give to a mother in their life.
